Planned Giving, Special Needs Planning, & Estate Planning
Planned Giving
Some donors to nonprofit organizations want to make a more impactful gift than they may be able to through traditional means. In these instances, donors may make giving a part of their overall financial or estate planning. Asiatico Law can assist your organization in educating your donors on the available options for planned giving to maximize their donations and connect you and your donors with qualified financial and estate planning professionals experienced in planned giving.
Special Needs Planning
Special needs planning may also be a critical part of a family or individual’s estate plan. Proper planning is vital for the dual purposes of ensuring adequate care and resources for the lifetime of the individual with special needs and preserving eligibility for valuable government benefits. In 2010, there were 56.7 million people with a disability in the US, and 38.3 million of those had a severe disability.1 Adults with disabilities were less likely to be employed than non-disabled adults, and people of all ages with a disability were more likely to live in poverty.2 Parents of children reaching majority age need to be aware of and plan for the loss of certain rights to information and decision-making upon their children reaching 18 years of age. Asiatico Law can provide practical advice and solutions for addressing those issues through a guardianship or less restrictive alternatives. We assist clients in identifying areas of concern and maximizing their resources to meet their needs.
